This baby blue block of a house with a strangely misfit chalet entry overhang was in desperate need of a makeover! We took the house to the studs, opened up the spaces by (re)moving lots of walls, and created a beautiful and very functional 5-bedroom family home with lots of personality despite the constraint of the uninspired box-shape of the home.

The unexpected use of brick in the kitchen combined with a mix of dark and aluminum cabinetry, white counters, wood details and an exposed metal post give the space a distinct “industrial” feeling. The use of smooth stucco on interior walls, industrial-inspired light fixtures and additional exposed metal posts throughout the home further contribute to the loft-like feeling of the space.
