Cheviot Hills, California

This stately home was the result of an expansive remodel and second story addition to an old single level home on a large lot. The raised location of the house on a corner gave an impression of grandeur and its interesting V-shaped footprint showed huge potential for creating something unique. By taking it to the studs, adding a second story and leaving the central living area open on 2 levels, we created an imposing yet very livable 4,600 square foot family home.

The entire space was re-oriented to the large backyard, creating a sense of privacy and connectedness to the outdoors. The dramatic 2-story limestone wall framing the staircase, and the elevated walkway overlooking the living room produce a wonderful sense openness and luxury.

A consistent mixture of wood and stone was used throughout the home resulting in a luxurious yet natural vibe. With oak flooring, walnut cabinetry, limestone walls and marble tile on the inside, and mangaris wood siding and limestone cladding outside, the interior and exterior spaces meld seamlessly in this quintessential Southern California luxury residence.
